Abstract

|
The pituitary adenoma is rarely complicated by intracapsular hemorrhage. Most of the hemorrhage is usually incurred in the course of radiation therapy, so that a spontaneous one is extremely rare.
Concomitant with the progress of the defect in the visual fields, there may be signs of pituitary deficiency or injury to the hypothalamus. Lesions of the gland may result in amenorrhea and sterility in the female and loss of libido in the male.
We report an unusual case of cystic chromnophobe adenoma with intracapsular, hemorrhage of which clinical feature doesn´t reveal any clues to the correct diagnosis.
The patient was devoid of any clinical symptoms and signs of a pituitary adenoma before the entry.
